Precision Health Reports announced as one of twelve finalist in the NC IDEAS Fall 2020 SEED Grant Cycle
DURHAM, NC – October 26, 2020 – NC IDEA, a private foundation committed to supporting entrepreneurial ambition and economic empowerment in North Carolina, announced today that Precision Health Reports, Inc. is among the twelve finalist for their 30th cycle of the $50,000 NC IDEA SEED grant.
“To be selected in final twelve of over 130 applicants is a real honor,” stated Matthew Martin, CEO of Precision Health Reports. “We know that diabetic, metabolic, and cardiovascular disease is a real epidemic in our society and this selection furthers our opportunity to help healthcare providers across North Carolina and the United States identify patients’ risks earlier to intervene before the point of no return or a catastrophic health event.”
Over 34 million Americans suffer from type 2 diabetes and another 95 million Americans are pre-diabetic at risk of progressing into this disease that has an annual direct cost of $237 billion to the healthcare system. Similarly, cardiovascular disease affects 18.2 million Americans at a direct healthcare cost of over $318 billion annually and is the #1 leading cause of death. Early detection of these related cardiometabolic diseases is critical in preventing disease progression. Precision Health Reports makes identifying the risks associated with these diseases quick, easy, and accurate for their clients.
The company recently launched their Diabetic Risk Assessment with multiple healthcare providers across the country and will soon release their full Cardiometabolic Risk Assessment later this year. “With limited time to spend with each patient, doctors just do not have the time available to compile all of the biomarkers, individual risk factors, varying calculators, and guidelines,” said Dr. William Cromwell, Chief Medical Officer. “Our risk assessments arm healthcare providers with a proven tool to spend their limited clinical intervention time having a conversation with their patient about a plan of action to have a healthy outcome.”
